LifeZugzwang.com Presents: The Definitive Halloween Viewing Guide for 2019

Another year has come and gone, and we’re back for our annual Halloween tradition. You’ll note that this list is (once again) similar to last year. I’ve made a few more changes; to my list.

Removed:

  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) – Cut to make room for another wildcard.
  • The Evil Dead (1981) – I understand the importance of this film; it’s just hard to watch year after year.
  • An American Werewolf in London (1981) – Every year I recalculate the ratings for the top 100 movies on my list; after the recalculation, this one didn’t make the cut.
  • Evil Dead II (1987) – See above.
  • Under the Shadow (2016) – Similar to An American Werewolf, this recalculation was far more dramatic.

Added:

  • Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) – Wildcard
  • The Fly (1986) – Recalculation
  • Ringu (1998) – Another recalculation
  • A Quiet Place (2018) – Inclusion from 2018
  • Upgrade (2018) – Inclusion from 2018
