When I started writing these notes I was under the impression this was refuted; after digging into this a bit I realized that I could spend days here with Stockfish and not get clear answers, perhaps this line has some life left.} Kxf7 9. d4 Qxd4+ [{Steinitz considered this to be a mistake, believing (incorrectly) that}(9. ...
