6. Rajbhandari (2061) – GM Khatanbaatar (2390) 1-0
In this game after a few missteps by black white had the upper hand and was able to convert on some serious blunders by white. What’s impressive is how smoothly White was able to convert this, although it took many moves his technique was pretty solid.
5. GM Baburin (2502) – Nadir (2141) 0-1
It’s always fun to see an expert topple an experienced GM and this game is no exception. Baburin was playing a reasonable game until he blundered on move 27. It’s tough to say what he thought he saw there, as it looks to me like he’s just giving up the e-pawn.
