4. IM Gerzhoy (2473) – Wiwatanadate (2106) 0-1
Both the Canadian men and women team’s seemed to have trouble today with upsets, the first example was that disaster I showed in the beginning. This game was much more reasonable and Gerzhoy had an advantage for the first half, before letting it slip away.
3. Mamatov (2106) – GM Tratar (2490) 1-0
Just another example of an expert beating a strong GM. This time the victim was Marko Tratar. The game itself was not very well played by either side, on multiple occasions black was let back into the game only to blunder and be out completely.
